September 22 marks the launch of the Self-Care Readiness Index, a global policy tool for assessing and improving self-care systems worldwide, marking a breakthrough step in the world of self-care. The report assesses countries' self-care systems across four critical enablers, and ranks them intuitively from 1 to 4, with 4 being the most resilient self-care system. By identifying and quantifying the critical enablers to self-care, the report will act as an effective policy tool, informing future decisions of policymakers and regulators.
The official press release can be viewed in the resources link to the right. To mark the launch, the Global Self-Care Federation is also hosting a webinar panel discussion on the report, inviting members representing patients, healthcare professionals and industry. The webinar can be viewed here.
Based on the findings of the report, GSCF issued a call to action together with its membership and other stakeholders. Please refer to the policy statement here.
