WSMI official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO) renewed

WSMI is pleased to announce that the WHO Executive Board has renewed our official relation status with the WHO, for the period 2013-2015. The official relations status is  based on a three-year collaboration plan which WSMI will implement in support of the work of the World Health Organization. In its message addressed to the WSMI, the WHO said: “in making its decision, the Board commended the continuing dedication of the organization you represent in support of the work of WHO”.
WSMI is delighted that we will continue to put our expertise at the service of the World Health Organization. Our mission is to create and maintain an international environment intended to improve the opportunities for people to manage their own health through the responsible use of safe and effective nonprescription and other self-care products. Not least is the current public health battle against chronic diseases (including heart diseases, stroke, diabetes, some chronic lung conditions and cancer),  in which self-care and responsible self-medication have a particularly important role to play by empowering patients and healthy individuals to be active participants in their healthcare and preventing or delaying the onset of disease.
