Japan to prepare DVD on self-medication

In anticipation of the government educational programme, "Yaku-Iku: Education for promoting proper use of medicine", which should be adopted from 2011, the Japan Self-Medication Association (JSMI) produced an educational DVD on Self-Medication for junior high school students. In August 2008, on the occasion of the National Self-Made Audio-Visual Material Contest hosted by the Japanese Audio-Visual Education Association, the DVD received an award of excellence for the quality of the educational content. JSMI now has the project to produce an adapted version for the general public to further contribute to educating people to the practice of responsible self-medication.
