WHO/WEF conference on treatment of tobacco dependence

A two-day conference was organised by the WHO at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Geneva on 8-9 December 2008. WSMI was invited to make a presentation on 'Why treatment of tobacco dependence should be on the political agenda of developing countries'. In attendance were over 70 representatives of governments, WHO and WEF Staff, NGOs, private sector representatives and experts. There was a general support for the idea of developing public-private partnerships (PPP) between all stakeholders in this area. |
