WSMI’s member association in China welcomes booklet "Avoiding Heart Attacks and Strokes. Don’t be a victim - Protect yourself"
May 2007

"Avoiding Heart Attacks and Strokes. Don’t be a victim - Protect yourself" is the booklet which was developed by WSMI in partnership with the World Health Organization, The World Heart Federation, and the International Stroke Society. With the contributing factors of chronic diseases being now better understood, large-scale communication on aspects such as proper nutrition, exercising and quitting tobacco, can make a significant contribution to public health worldwide. On a report published in 2005, WHO outlined that an increased investment in the prevention of chronic diseases could allow to prevent 36 million premature deaths in the next 10 years. A good illustration of the booklet’s usefulness is the recent order of 1000 copies by CNMA, WSMI’s member association in China.

Copies in English, Spanish, French, Chinese and Arabic can be ordered from WSMI. Please contact: admin@wsmi.org.
