WSMI congratulates WHO’s Dr Chan

WSMI is pleased to congratulate Dr Margaret Chan on her appointment as Director-General of the World Health Organisation from January 2007.

The importance of self-care and self-medication has been rising in many countries, driven by political changes, social changes, economic factors and  technological developments. WSMI has been delighted with the interest shown by previous Director-Generals of WHO and looks forward to supporting WHO’s programmes in future as they increasing recognise the opportunities for global health presented by self-care and self-medication.
