“Working Together for Self-Care, the World’s Vision”, Geneva
June 2005

The 15th WSMI General Assembly & 41st AESGP Annual Meeting, entitled “Working Together for Self-Care, the World’s Vision” brought to Switzerland more than 470 attendees from 41 countries and five continents as well as a large number of worldwide dignitaries. Speakers included heads of international self-care companies and regulatory authorities, WHO representatives, directors of the self-medication associations around the world and a variety of healthcare professions and patients organizations. As pointed out by Dr Lee Jong-Wook, Director General of WHO, during his presentation, the 3-day conference outlined “the growing awareness of the need for cooperation and the willingness to establish a partnership between all those whose work affect health” in the area of self-care and self-medication. “Self-medication and the social support in illness, Lee continued, represent a great alternative for healthcare in the turn of the 21st century.”
