Asian Tsunami

WSMI and its member companies and associations share the universal sense of shock at the appalling impact of the tsunami in Asia. The self-medication industry’s response is through a number of channels, and generally involves the donation of money and/or needed medicines. We are working centrally through the various international relief coordination agencies and through Health Partners International. More locally, companies in the affected countries and the region, supported by WSMI country member associations, are providing resources and support to the affected areas. The risk of disease after the event presents a danger almost as dire as the initial catastrophe and industry recognises the need for ongoing and extensive support.
