WSMI supports the” Students' Initiative” of consumer healthcare 1st seminar in Ghana.

The first seminar of “Students' Initiative” on consumer healthcare took place at SSNIT Conference Hall, Harper Road Adum, Kuamsi-Ghana on the February 26, 2004.

The theme of the first seminar was "The Role of the Food and Drugs Law and the Regulatory Agencies on Consumer Protection". The main objectives of the seminar were:

1.       to strengthen the enforcement of FDB Law, PNDCL 305 and its Amendment Act 532,1996 

2.       to seek common ways to collaborate local activities

42 participants attended from various government organizations and media houses.

Dr Mrs Frances T.K. Owusu-Daako, senior lecturer in Pharmacy at KNUST chaired.  Mr. Ike Edward Acheampong of the Food and Drugs Board (Inspectorate Division) and Mr. Johnson Yankey of the Customs Excise and Preventive Services were the speakers.
