IAPO announces Patient Solidarity Day
30 October 2014
Patient Solidarity Day, celebrated on December 6th, goes global this year.
Patient Solidarity Day 2014 aims to raise awareness about patient-centred healthcare and to reinforce IAPO’s work focus on Universal Health Coverage (UHC).
A shared work area for IAPO and WSMI is around patient and citizen empowerment. Patient and citizen empowerment is closely linked to patient-centered healthcare and is a prerequisite for self-care and self-medication.
As rightly said by IAPO, “when patients are actively involved in all levels of healthcare decision-making their health outcomes are improved”.
